July 21, 2010 Sister Venessa Givens brought her cousin Lucy Martinez, Lucy's son 6 year old Christopher, and Lucy's mother, Ismelda Martinez to church Sunday morning to be prayed for.

Christopher has a lump on his neck just below his right ear and their Doctor was worried that he night have leukemia. Worried because cancer is running so much in the family. Monday Christopher had tests for cancer including an MRI and the result was totally negative. Thank you Lord for answering our prayers!

June 22, 2010 I went and got another botox shot in my neck

(Brother Kirk Perkins) I Guess I wasn't quite cured, just almost.

Sister Betty Beshears came through the surgery Miraculously. She would have usually had to be kept in a darkened room for several days as light should have caused her to have seizures: However it wasn't necessary in her case the light didn't bother her one bit. The doctor let her check out and go home a day early she was doing so well. Thank you Father Jesus for answering our prayers.

Yesterday, April 27, 2009 I Called Dr. Treciokas, my torticollis doctor, and told him that I guess I wouldn't be needing anymore Botulinium Toxin shots in my neck. I said that I had been putting of getting my shots because I didn't seem to be having any more neck muscle pulling. I am scheduled to drive down to the doctor's office in Santa Monica every three months to get the shots. But it has been 6 months now since my last ones and I'm just not needing them.

He told me to give him a call every month or two to let him know how I'm doing but in the mean time he would add me to his list of patients who have had a spontaneous remission. I was number three.

The significance of which didn't really sink in until I had thought about it for a while.

Soon I will have had it 40 years. It began in the summer of 1969 when I was working as a 7up delivery man. Dr. Treciokas said that he thought it to be quite unexpected to have a spontaneous remission at my age. I am turning 69 May 3rd. He said once he has treated more than 600 people with various forms of dystonia, which is what my torticollis is a form of. Thank you Lord for taking care of your people and letting me be one of them!

Three weeks ago in the latter part of March 2009 Sister Tina Seymour, The Pastor's sister fell at work and landed on the elbow of her left arm. She fractured her elbow at the funny bone. She was prayed for at church the following Sunday morning and was healed on the spot. She took off her sling and waved her arm excitedly showing everybody that there was no more pain. Last Saturday she was carrying around her 34 pound grandson all over the park where we had the churches Easter Picnic, with her left arm. Her doctor told her that the x-rays showed cartilage damage also and recommended putting a cast on it; but Tiny told me that she told him no, because there was absolutely no pain and she didn't want one. Thank you Lord for taking care of your people and letting me be one of them!

Last September 04, 2006, Brother Jesse Medina was changing weights on a tractor when one of them slipped and fell to the ground. It weighed 900 pounds. Brother Jesse said it happened so fast he doesn't really know how. But it left a dent in the paved surface he was parked on a foot deep and before Brother Jesse knew what had happened he was laying on the ground beside it. His foot was bent over sideways. Both leg bones just above the ankle were badly broken. He was alone but someone came eventually after yelling for help. The surgeon had to use plates to put the bones back together with.

Brother Jesse feels that it was a miracle of God that he didn't loose his foot altogether under the weight and because he was back on the job December 19, 2006 Much sooner than he expected. There is still pain from the plates in his ankle but the doctor will remove them sometime later this year. Thank You Lord for answering prayers.

In September of 2006, Sister Ruby Hickman blew out the tendon on her ankle and had major surgery to have it repaired. She continuously wore a brace and suffered major pain until she had to have it redone with another surgery in October of last year. She had a total of five screws in the bones of her foot now. She continued to wear the brace and suffer major pain; until last Sunday morning service January 18, 2009, when Brother Kevin Wood came to her during an alter call and asked her to let him pray for her. He told her that he felt as though the Lord had been urging him to pray for her foot for the last fifteen minutes (we are never quite sure whether or not it is the Lord's voice we hear ) so Sister Ruby agreed and they went up to the front of the church where Brother Kevin and Brother Sonny Wilson prayed for her.

Sister Ruby went home and took off her brace because her pain had almost left and hasn't put it back on again since. As related to me by Pastor Lori and Sister Ruby last night 1/20/2009. Thank You Lord for answering prayers.

In late August 2008, Brother Sonny Wilson went up to the front of the church for prayer and Brother Ron and Brother Troy prayed for his sciatic nerve pain in his lower right back. Brother Sonny said he had been suffering for two years with the pain and it was just like someone was sticking something in his back. It was very painful especially when he had to stand for a long time. It took 4 or 5 days for it to go away but it's been gone now for at least four weeks. October 19, 2008, Brother Sonny said that he's been gone for the last two weeks hunting and fishing in the mountains, he even climbed almost straight up 400 feet and nothing he does will make the pain begin. Thank You Lord for answering prayers.

Sister LeeAnn Mendez' Miracle.

Six months ago Sister LeeAnn was found to have 2 fibroid tumors with an ultra sound and was given medication to control them. Three months ago when they gave her another ultra sound the two tumors had grown to three times their original size. When Brother Larry Jewell was asked to be brought up front to be prayed for back then, a little over three months ago, Sister LeeAnn was right behind him during the praying, she said, and after he was prayed for Brother Larry turned around and prayed for her. After that her Doctor gave her another ultra sound. This one didn't show anything so they scheduled her for an MRI last week. Friday October 17, 2008 Sister LeeAnn's Doctor told her that the MRI agreed that the 2 tumors were indeed gone. Thank you Lord for answering prayers.

Brother Larry Jewell went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 09, 2008. He died at home with his wife, Sister Tracy and his Doctor present. Sister Tracy said, "He got what he wanted.' 'He had asked the Lord to let him live yet a short time so he could finish something he wanted to do." Sister Tracy continued, "The Lord gave him an extra 90 days." Thank You Lord for answering prayers.

When baby Emma Mathews, 2 years old, took ill they took her to the ER here in Bakersfield. When tests showed e-coli she was sent by air to Children's Hospital in Fresno. Brother Ron and Brother Troy drove up on Thursday October 09 to lay hands on her and pray for her. Brother Ron said that she never woke while they were there and that they said her kidney function was down to 25%. And that little Emma had to have two transfusions that replaced all of her blood. When they called Friday to ask how she was, She was up and playing and her kidneys were up to 75%. The nurses couldn't keep her in bed. Thank you Lord for answering prayers.

On September 11, 2008 After going to the hospital and praying for Sister Shelly Barriente's Brother Danny he woke up from a month long coma he had been in since his accident in August.

In August 2008 Sister Krysta Woods Mammogram showed two lumps so she was scheduled for another Mammogram to check the results. After a lot of prayer and a couple of days she had it done again. There wasn't anything there this time. Thank you Father Jehovah, Thank you Father Jesus for answering prayers.

In July of 2008 our and Teen Challenges Pastor Larry Jewell who had been in a battle with liver cancer for a year, it had gone into remission, collapsed into a coma. He was transported to the hospital in an ambulance and remained in the coma. The Doctors told His wife, Sister Tracy that he wouldn't live more than two to five more days. She called in their kids, some who had to come from Hawaii, bought a tombstone sent it out to the engraver and sat at his side waiting and praying. On Wednesday night our Pastors turned the service into an appeal to the Lord for Brother Larry's life, reminiscent of the prayer service that we had for Brother Chuck Hussey 13 years before.

We were just determined to beg the Lord for Brother Larry's life until he relented and brought him back to us. Brother Larry has been an important part of the Teen Challenge organization for over 25 years and he has made a large impact on many lives.

Thursday morning when Sister Tracy walked into his room at the hospital he laying awake, looked up at her and said, "Hey babe I've been gone for a while, how about a little kiss"?

Thank You Father Yahweh and Father Jesus for miracles - Brother Larry went home two days later gave the word on Wednesday Evening August 20 and told us about the New and Better Covenant; Including some change of perspective that he gained during his ordeal. Here is the Audio File

A New and Better Covenant - Aug 2008 - Pastor Larry Jewell

In August of 2008 Sister Sharon Perkins had been feeling something in her abdominal area when she leaned up against the draining board at the sink. She was afraid the tumor was returning. She went to her Doctor and the Doctor agreed that there was something in there so scheduled her the next day for an Ultrasound. The Ultrasound showed that there was an object 5 cm in diameter, a little over an inch, so her Doctor scheduled her for a CT Scan as soon as possible which turned out to be the following Monday. We went up front at the Sunday morning service to get her prayed for.

The CT Scan the next day showed that the object was gone. The Lord removed it because of the prayer. She went to the Surgeon who examined both the Ultrasound and the CT Scan results and examined her as well and told her that sure enough the object was gone. Thank You Father Yahweh and Father Jesus.

In December of 2005 my wife Sharon Perkins had a 15 pound tumor removed from her abdomen. A very, very difficult time. A lot of people prayed that it would come out all right. Thank you Father Yahweh and Father Jesus for answering those prayers. It turned out to be the kind that's not cancer. The Surgeon told us that the tumor broke as soon as he put his hands on it. It took an hour longer than it was expected to take. Two and a half hours in all.

She was back to work part time at Jim Burke Ford in three weeks.

(Me) Brother Kirk Perkins, the greatest Miracle I have witnessed personally is the complete change my own life has made. Revolutionary changes, slowly taking place over the past 18 years since beginning to go to the little 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God then.

My Torticollis improved so much that I discontinued the Botox shots for one whole year.

I was given two little six year old children to take care of by the Lord. And I had for years been telling myself I didn't really like kids. I not only found I like kids but have become as doting as a mother.

I was healed of Melanoma cancer on my back. Dr. Lew, USC Neurological Center. Saw the spot on my back when I took of my shirt to get the Botox type B shots in my neck. (Left Trapezius). He said I should get it looked at by someone who specialized in skin cancer. I did. The Doctor took a biopsy. It turned out to be stage one Melanoma. He scheduled an out patient surgery for the following week. I was scared.

My wife Sharon's Aunt Louis asked her preacher from the 7th Standard Church, Brother Jim Glasco (we had changed churches), to come over and lay hands on me and pray for me. He made a surprise visit at 4:30 in the afternoon and did it. I knew everything was going to be ok after, I had a feeling of peace about it. This was around 13 years ago, 1995. It never came back.

We had changed to the Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church of God in Shafter. Which has since become the Jesus Saves International Church. And around the same time Brother Chuck Hussey who worked out of his garage rebinding old books caught the skin eating disease. His wife Karen took him to the Hospital. It was eating him up alarmingly fast.

Brother Chuck was one of us. His mother in law had been going to Church here since the 1950's. Brother Dewayne turned a Wednesday night service into an earnest prayer time for Brother Chuck. Really - really earnest. Two days later Brother Chuck went home. It had begun to quickly heal up. Praise the Lord.

Acts 3:19-22

19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before,

21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

These verses truly make me think that when we say Our Lord He may really be Our's: Us at Jesus Saves especially.

Around the same time of Brother Chuck's Miracle Healing Sister Corinna Jones had a Miracle Healing from Cancer. She was a very young woman, a mother of two girls. I didn't know much about her but that her cancer had become pretty serious; when Our Lord Healed her. Her cancer is still gone 13 years later.

Also around 1996 Sister Helen Murray had to have brain surgery. She had a tumor removed the size of a lemon. The Doctors said that she might not ever be able to speak or to walk again. A lot of prayers went up for her for quite a while and she enjoyed a complete recovery with in several months.

In 2005 Just after Pastor Steve and Sister Lori Seymour became the preachers at Jesus Saves, Brother Justin Ary started his battle with cancer. It had gotten into his Lymph glands and he was taking chemo therapy. It got to be a struggle. The women's group was making prayer blankets for people who were very ill at that time and my wife Sharon was helping make them. I helped pray for Justin's blanket. Plus all of the weekly prayers that were prayed by the Church and his wife Davin. He was completely healed and still is three years later.

In 2006 Brother Bud Smith, a Deacon of 35 plus years at Jesus Saves needed a stint put in one of the arteries of his heart. The tests showed that it was so blocked that they had a heart Surgeon standing by for the procedure on Monday. There was a lot of prayer for him that Sunday evening service. My wife Sister Sharon was led of the Lord to take her Bible over to him and place it on his chest at church that evening and pray for him, which she did, along with a lot of others.

The next day when they went up his leg artery to place the stint there wasn't anything there that needed stinting. They sent him home that very day. Miracle cured!

In June of 2006 I wrecked my Motorcycle. It broke my 5th lumbar vertebrae and three bones in my left hand.

An unlicensed 35yr old from Roseville pulled out in front of me and stopped in my lane crosswise in front of me so I didn't have enough time to stop before hitting him. I locked the rear wheel momentarily though and it slid to the right so I loosened it enough to get it to roll again momentarily continuing to slow the motorcycle as much as possible before I had to impact his Enterprise rent car. I learned how to slide the bike into him sideways when it had momentarily slipped the back tire to the right, a second before and I knew I didn't want to hit him head on so when I got to him I locked up the rear tire again and leaned to the left hitting the left side of his car with the right side of my motorcycle.

My Paladin Highway Bars saved my right leg but I hit the car with my front tire first and it jerked hard to the left taking out my two smallest fingers on my left hand with the left rear view mirror; then the motorcycle slid around and hit the car with the rear wheel and flipped me up onto the top of the Enterprise rent car onto my back. I must have had a death hold on the right handle grip which brought me to a stop on my back on top of the car. The car lurched forward, almost jumping out from under me. I slid to the trunk then slid off of the left fender onto my left side on the pavement and didn't move. In case I might have a broken back or worse a broken neck. I heard a couple of guys directing traffic around the accident and the cars and trucks going by close to me but little else. After about five minutes my left arm started becoming very uncomfortable because I was laying on it so I decided to chance a quick flip over onto my back from my left side - so I did it.. DON'T MOVE! I heard a lot of people yell all at once. This was a wide five lane street in a housing area and it sounded as if I had attracted a big crowd.

The Ambulance arrived. After only about 10 minutes; I had never been involved in an accident before and I thought this must be the Lord, because I thought it would take 20 or 30 minutes for an ambulance to get there.

The ambulance attendants were really impressive. Very quick and thorough - competent, this was the Lord too, I thought.

They took off my helmet, shredded the arms of my shirt and the legs of my pants recruited two onlookers to help them slip me up on a board with tie downs and lift me onto their gurney then into the ambulance.

I couldn't see my motorcycle but as they were putting me into the back of the ambulance I saw what may have been 50 people standing around on both sides of the street. and I could see the front of the Enterprise rent car. The top left, drivers side windshield was shattered. The pretty ambulance attendant said the motorcycle didn't look all that bad but it looked like there were some boot prints on the top of the car. The motorcycle was totaled.

The ER nurse, Alfredo, told me that he could tell I was a Christian because I survived the accident so well. Being so old to have it. He told me that 50% of these kind of an accidents end in the death of the rider, and they are mostly in their 20's or 30's. As a matter of fact while I was in the ER another motorcycle rider from a later accident died there on the other side of the room. When they wheeled him out of the room they wheeled him right past Sharon and Daughter Zenia. Stating that it was the motorcycle rider. So much for my future as a rider.

I was really blessed by Father Yahweh and Father Jesus, many times over through out this experience. Ten Doctors and Nurses told me how incredibly luck I had been. - I told them - I'm a Christian.
